The Canadians Are Coming!

Wednesday night (tomorrow!) is the One-Year Anniversary of The Fire & Glory Outpouring and it kicks off five days of worship and celebration.

Sam Robinson is one of the guest speakers and I’m pretty sure he said that he’s bringing at least 60 Canadians with him to Summit Church in San Marcos, California. Last I heard there were at least 500 people registered, but that was Sunday and most of those were from out of state and outside the U.S.

Miranda Nelson said that most people actually register in the three days just before these special Fresh Awakening-type events. So I don’t know how many people will come for someone like Shawn Bolz. 700? 800? A Thousand? I’m not sure everyone will fit if we get 1000 people.

For this event I say “we” because my wife and I are volunteering as ushers. I don’t know if we are guaranteed seats, but I know I’ll at least have a place to stand!

If you’ve never experienced a revival-type worship event, I urge you to COME ON DOWN. (Because so many people are expected, based on my experience I recommend getting there 90 minutes early. If you want to attend when there are likely to be not quite so many so that you don’t have to come early, then shoot for 2:30 on Friday or Saturday. No guarantee, but based on my experience those times aren’t usually packed to the rafters!)

Remember, it’s not about getting you to switch churches. Attend your home church AND come to revival! Revival is EXTRA! Think of it like summer camp for adults (though kids are welcome as well).

The other really important thing to remember is that The Fire & Glory Outpouring is about the love of Jesus. So, don’t expect to switch churches and focus on giving and receiving the love of Jesus. You’ll probably learn a lot AND it’s very likely there will be prayer for healing. Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring your enemies. They need God, too.

If you really can’t make it, you can watch online. I like numbers so I have kept a pretty accurate count. So far (mostly since July 2016) I’ve watched The Fire & Glory Outpouring on Youtube 24 times and I’ve attended live 68 times. Get more details by visiting the new website, ElishaRevolution.com.

Try New Things In This New Year!

Happy New Year!

This morning my wife and I tried something new by attending Summit Church in San Marcos together for the first time.

Frequent readers may wonder what I mean because they have heard me refer to Summit at times. Summit Church hosts Jerame & Miranda Nelson who are the lead revivalists of The Fire & Glory Outpouring (revival).

We have been to Summit many times for The Fire & Glory Outpouring and yesterday we saw Charlie Robinson from Canada preach at both 10 am and 7 pm.

We enjoyed Charlie Robinson so much that we went to both worship services this morning and we’ll attend the revival tonight when he “tag teams” with Jerame Nelson.

If you haven’t been to The Fire & Glory Outpouring or you’re in the San Marcos area looking for a church or if you are traveling, check out Summit for the revival or regular worship service.

Tonight will be my 61st(!) time at The Fire & Glory Outpouring and this is a special once a month time called Fresh Awakening. I believe this is my 6th Fresh Awakening and I always find it amazing or wonderful or both when Jerame & Miranda invite speakers like Shawn Bolz, Ivan Roman, Sam Robinson (Charlie’s son), Theresa Dedmon, Mahesh Chavda and others to come.

Near the end of January is the One-Year Anniversary of this revival and anyone who has ever been to one may know that a year is actually a long time for a revival to last. I’ve heard that Jerame & Miranda expected to do three or four nights and Holy Spirit told them to keep going. So they are simply obeying God. Find out who’s coming in January by clicking here.

I encourage you to try lots of new things in 2017 and beyond. You can start with some music from Summit Church which you may not know. I hope to see you at revival soon, but if you really can’t make it, watch on Youtube!

When You’re Tired, Press On

Right now I’m feeling tiredness slipping into my body. We need to be extra careful when we’re tired while driving (Hello truck drivers, soccer moms and dads, students, taxi, uber and delivery drivers and all the rest!) or doing something else with physical hazards. Earlier today I was poking through ice with a butter knife and made sure my other hand was out of the way. (I have found that it’s also a good time to really pay attention to what’s coming out of my mouth!)

Fortunately, I mostly have to concern myself with spelling and crazy cursor jumps that can erase paragraphs in under a second. (If it’s never happened to you, well, God bless you.) 🙂

Many of you are very aware of the need to “press on” in spite of being tired. Back in the 90s my wife and I were living apart for a time and I worked really late Saturday nights and then got up at 5:45 am to pick up our son and take him to church with me. I knew there was a time coming up in the afternoon or evening that I could have a rest. Even the worst case scenario was probably that I could hit the pillow at 10 on Sunday night.

What I’ve found is that when you can look forward to a time of rest at some point, it’s easier to press on. Many new parents find themselves sleep deprived and it’s like that commercial says: Dads don’t take sick days.

Another big help is encouragement. That old song “Home On The Range” contains the lyrics “Where seldom is heard a discouraging word”. Hopefully, Your Support Matters (this blog) is a source of encouragement for you.

Recently I’ve found a lot of Christian music that’s very encouraging. It might be my attitude (which I believe stems from more frequent, intense worship & greater intimacy with God in recent months) has shifted and that’s given me a healthier perspective about Christian music. It could also be the case that more Christian artists are writing from a place of true intimacy with God. Whatever the reasons, I find myself listening to Holy Spirit-inspired music much more often.

What may also be true is something like the 80/20 rule (or better yet, 90/10?). If you’re listening to 80 or 90 percent Christian music (songs that YOU find inspiring & Spirit-filled), you may find a difference in your attitude versus 80 or 90 percent secular music. I want to be absolutely clear that I am not saying you MUST do this. You could try an experiment and see how it works for you.

If you think back to how I started this post, I was talking about pressing on when you’re tired. Of course, if you have the opportunity to rest when you need it, take it!!

When you’re in a position where you must press on in spite of being tired, you may find it easier if you’ve been living in an encouraging environment. You may not have as much control over your living environment as I have right now. I understand that. But, you may have some control over “taking in” encouraging music, words or videos.

Here are some suggestions:

1) Pray honestly and intimately as a son or daughter of God

2) Read the Bible, especially Psalms

If you look closely you’ll notice that Psalms ARE prayers, so I see it as doubly good or a “double portion”.

3) Read Faith Books (RFB!) like:

A) The Cure

B) Mahesh Chavda’s The Hidden Power Of The Blood Of Jesus

You might win Mahesh’s book here.

C) David Herzog’s Glory Invasion

D) Patricia King’s Help, God! I’m Broke!

You might win Patricia King’s book here

4) Read my faith blog, Your Support Matters (YSM)

5) Listen to what I call faith music.

A) Read previous YSM posts and you’ll find lots of songs.

B) If you have Amazon Echo, ask Alexa to play Crowder or play Christian music

C) There are great radio stations online now like Air1.

So, to sum up…

I suggest you plan ahead by getting rest when you can so it’s easier to PRESS ON.

If you’re not getting enough rest, you can “gird” yourself by having an encouraging, faith-based atmosphere in your life by reading and listening to uplifting & Holy Spirit-inspired music, words and other media and sources. ALMOST FORGOT! AND, worship God intimately and often, alone and together with other believers. Some people call this “living a worship lifestyle”.

Here’s some media to remind you to Press On.

Always remember that God, the Creator of the Universe, loves YOU!

Hanging Out With Jerame Nelson, Miranda Nelson, Patricia King, Darren Stott, Shawn Bolz & Todd White

They say that when you hang out with people a lot, you become like them. While I don’t literally go down to get a burrito with Jerame Nelson or Starbucks with Todd White and I’ve never been on a plane with Miranda Nelson or in front of a dedication stone with Shawn Bolz, I do listen to their preaching and teaching.

Jerame Nelson is famous for preparing a sermon and throwing it out to follow the lead of Holy Spirit. Jerame and his wife, Miranda, have a ministry called Living At His Feet (LAHF). They are the leaders of The Fire & Glory Outpouring. In a way, I’m going to follow Jerame’s example with today’s post to Your Support Matters.
[ I changed this paragraph right before I went back to bed a little after 4 am today. If you guessed that I even changed the title of this post as I wrote it, you would be right. 🙂 ]

Today I was going to write about a couple things, but I heard Todd White when my wife was watching a video on Facebook. I really like this story quite a lot and I decided to change what this post would be about because I heard Todd speak.

You have over 200 videos to choose from with Jerame & Miranda Nelson at The Fire & Glory Outpouring. You could start with a hot August night like maybe, August 26th, 2016. You could watch the videos that bring you up to the the middle of October. (I assume it will take you a little while to catch up.) Along the way you’ll hear from Darren Stott, Patricia King and Shawn Bolz, as they were special guests at the most recent Fresh Awakening. Of course, you’ll see and hear Jerame & Miranda as those who attend or watch regularly do. Over 500,000 people have watched from 149 countries and 40-something states this year.

When October 12th rolls around you could watch LIVE and get prepared for The Fresh Awakening which starts October 13th and it will rock your world. Special guests Mahesh Chavda and Samuel Robinson will be there along with Miranda & Jerame Nelson. There might even be a special guest on the 12th. My wife and I and her sister and our nephews were at The Fresh Awakening last time and Darren Stott from Seattle Revival Center preached the night before.

This will be the third Fresh Awakening that I’ve attended. My wife and I live across the freeway from Summit Church in San Marcos, California where the revival (The Fire & Glory Outpouring & The Fresh Awakening) is being hosted. That’s providence for us right there. Check out The Fresh Awakening by clicking on this sentence.

Finally, I’ll leave you with a little Shawn Bolz who I think is amazing. You might hear that quite often when people describe all these people of God. The natural world might say that if everybody’s amazing then nobody is amazing. A philosophy professor might agree. A friend of mine named Myra says that “that’s not the way it works in God’s economy”. It’s really quite ok for all of them to be amazing. You may even find a favorite or two or three or four. Hopefully, you’ll hang out with these amazing people.

God loves you.
