Start The Day In A Beautiful Way

Today started as many days do. I felt a nudge from God about not one, but two songs. Good Morning Starshine from Oliver, the 1963 Broadway show [the year I was born] and Bulletproof by Citizen Way. [Also, I tried out for a San Diego production of Oliver in the 1970s when I was in at St. John’s in Encinitas, California.]

When I’m feeling a song from a Broadway play highlighted I might start wondering if it’s just between God and me. This morning was a little more unusual as I shared Bulletproof with the owner of The Blue Mug coffee shop in Escondido. Not long after that a two-year old came in with his mom, who I believe was the owner’s niece. His name? Oliver.

While I don’t think this is some monumental message from the Lord, I do believe he’s gently encouraging me by reminding me that He’s there, He loves me and cares about even little things in my life. The Lord knows about my love of music and touches my heart in many ways, but music is a big one right now.

After I got home I turned on the TV to listen to some music on Youtube and the first two songs listed there were Good Morning, Starshine & Bulletproof. I should say that I don’t make a habit of listening to just those songs. I’ve been compiling a list of 120 songs or so that I hope to include in my upcoming book. I absolutely love that we’ve got our television hooked up so we can stream Youtube which means not just music videos, but also The Fire & Glory Outpouring, other preachers like Shawn Bolz, Ivan Roman and Darren Stott (to name just a few), Ted Talks, Stephen Colbert, etc…

What I’m getting at here is that it wasn’t inevitable for those two songs to be listed first on my screen. Interesting…

Today’s post’s title was inspired by the seventh song that played automatically after the first two. Here’s the list of 15 songs that played to start my day today:

1) Good Morning Starshine from Oliver
2) Bulletproof by Citizen way
3) The Morning Song by Steffany Gretzinger
4) Tell Your Heart To Beat Again by Danny Gokey
5) The Comeback by Danny Gokey
6) So Will I (100 Billion X) by WorshipMob
7) What A Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship

Many of us can find a way to squeeze the first seven songs into our day. It’s a great set of music. Today is Saturday so I pressed on (and “pressed in”) to include a total of 15 songs to start my day. Here are the other eight songs:

8) Guilty by Newsboys
9) Unfinished by Mandisa
10) We Believe by Newsboys
11) Cecie’s Lullabye by Stephanie Gretzinger
12) Old Church Choir by Zach Williams
13) That’s How You Change The World by Newsboys
14) Run Devil Run by Crowder
15) Overcomer by Mandisa

Give a listen to the song (below) that you might have thought I missed.

Press On! God Bless You!

Merry Christmas!

Word Of Knowledge – Encouragement

Less than two years ago I don’t think I was aware of the phrase “word of knowledge”. This post is a way to make readers aware of the phenomenon and see me receiving on video. You’ll see me in my bright green “Kauai” Red Dirt brand shirt. I believe I have received at least 20-30 “words” in the last twenty months.

This is my simple explanation of what I believe it means. A word of knowledge or simply “a word” is when a person is so able to receive information from the Lord because of their level of intimacy with Holy Spirit at a given moment in time that God gives them information to share with someone else about that person. Shawn Bolz is known for being really experienced at this and usually really accurate. There are definitely lots of others who have lots and lots of experience.

You may ask, “What’s a word of knowledge for?” and one answer that I give is this: encouragement! We have a friend living with us right now who has a whole network of people he can ask to pray for him and many will give him a word of knowledge as encouragement that he is moving in the right direction. He received confirmation that God wanted him to move to the San Diego area last year.

Last year I gave a word to a woman on Facebook in a group where we practice giving words of knowledge to each other. When you read that post you’ll see that I received a word from two people I had never met about how accurate my word was for the woman! It was AMAZING and very encouraging to me. You can see from the exchange that at least one woman said that God interrupted her while she was giving someone a word so she could find me online and give me encouragement. As I said, we had never met AND the two people are even from a different part of the world!

Even as I looked back at the post I was encouraged by the very end of it because I love to sing and she told me to:

🙂 Sing brother; sing ♪ ♫ …

Recently I received a word through a friend of our roommate friend which told me that the Lord loves to hear me sing. Very encouraging!

Watch this snippet of Ivan Roman at the Fire & Glory Outpouring giving me words of knowledge on November 1 this year, the day after the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. He starts with me at 1:59:15. If you prefer you can start around 1:57:00 and see what one of the interns received from Ivan. Or, you can catch some of Ivan’s preaching before he moves into words of knowledge around 1:30:55.

Please make a note of these times or you will find yourself looking at a video that’s over 2 hours long. That’s fine if that’s what you want. I encourage you to make time to watch the whole video sometime soon.

God bless you!

Here are TWO songs of the day by Ryan Stephenson and We Are Messengers

Press On.

Around 2:30

Around 2:30 this morning my wife woke up and turned on the fan because it was too hot in our room. Seven years ago we got a memory foam mattress and it IS very comfortable. What we didn’t realize is that the memory foam retains a lot of heat. Apparently, we haven’t quite arrived in the “realm” of cold weather (or Southern California’s version of winter wonderland), when retained heat will be helpful.

Are you retaining your heat? Are you on fire for Jesus? I am.

Do you use different terminology that means the same thing? Hallelujah!

If not, I strongly suggest adding revival to your schedule. Check out ElishaRevolution.com and join us one night a week or more. Think of it as a mini-retreat. Or year-round summer camp.

The Fire & Glory Outpouring (Elisha Revolution) is currently hosted at Heart of God Church in Rancho Bernardo (San Diego).

If you’re on the fence, get off the fence!

Come and experience passionate worship of the Lord God Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth.

Ivan Roman from Oregon is preaching tonight! I hope you’ll love this guy as much as I do! BUT, I’m sure he’ll keep pointing to Jesus.

Join us!

Here’s the song of the day that the Lord gave me around 2:30 this morning:

Birthday Presents For Marianne

Today is my wife’s birthday so I’ll be short. Please consider giving her a birthday present which you can do on any day you read this or remember.

Here are your choices:

1) Participate in worship at The Fire & Glory Outpouring either live or online.

2) Get yourself a hard copy (or Kindle version) of The Message (Bible).

Read it FREE!

3) Watch an Elisha Revolution video.

4) Check out Ivan Roman (around 1:03:50) at Fresh Awakening during the revival.

Why four choices? Just a reminder that their are four faces of God in Ezekiel.

I really love The Message’s paraphrase of these verses. I shared it with a friend from Lithuania and she loved it! (She and another young woman both came from Lithuania to The Fire & Glory Outpouring by simply trusting God for provision!)

Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives. That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original.

Try New Things In This New Year!

Happy New Year!

This morning my wife and I tried something new by attending Summit Church in San Marcos together for the first time.

Frequent readers may wonder what I mean because they have heard me refer to Summit at times. Summit Church hosts Jerame & Miranda Nelson who are the lead revivalists of The Fire & Glory Outpouring (revival).

We have been to Summit many times for The Fire & Glory Outpouring and yesterday we saw Charlie Robinson from Canada preach at both 10 am and 7 pm.

We enjoyed Charlie Robinson so much that we went to both worship services this morning and we’ll attend the revival tonight when he “tag teams” with Jerame Nelson.

If you haven’t been to The Fire & Glory Outpouring or you’re in the San Marcos area looking for a church or if you are traveling, check out Summit for the revival or regular worship service.

Tonight will be my 61st(!) time at The Fire & Glory Outpouring and this is a special once a month time called Fresh Awakening. I believe this is my 6th Fresh Awakening and I always find it amazing or wonderful or both when Jerame & Miranda invite speakers like Shawn Bolz, Ivan Roman, Sam Robinson (Charlie’s son), Theresa Dedmon, Mahesh Chavda and others to come.

Near the end of January is the One-Year Anniversary of this revival and anyone who has ever been to one may know that a year is actually a long time for a revival to last. I’ve heard that Jerame & Miranda expected to do three or four nights and Holy Spirit told them to keep going. So they are simply obeying God. Find out who’s coming in January by clicking here.

I encourage you to try lots of new things in 2017 and beyond. You can start with some music from Summit Church which you may not know. I hope to see you at revival soon, but if you really can’t make it, watch on Youtube!

A New Dance To Watch And Learn

I’m dating myself with this post’s title. If you have ever seen The Archies television show that I watched on Saturday mornings during the 1970s(!), you’ll recognize those seven words as the start of the “new dance” portion of the show. I still remember seeing one called “The Touchdown” that featured Jughead prominently.

Oh, those carefree days before 1980 when terrorists in the U.S. like the SLA and others [Google It – The SLA] were homegrown and mostly stuck to robbing banks. (At least that’s how I perceived it in my preteen years. Wait. You didn’t realize that we had terrorism way back then? It’s not new. The faces are different as well as their beliefs. But I digress and manage to explain while still bleary-eyed…ANyway…)

Recently I’ve been sharing with people I know and people I meet in Vons and Trader Joe’s and other places how I never expected to be attending 3 1/2 hour long worship services, but that’s what I’ve been doing.

This is possibly a “new dance” for you as well. Here’s another “new dance” for you. Ready?

You can watch it live on Youtube!

That’s what I did last night because I was a lot more tired than I had expected to be. I tuned into The Fire & Glory Outpouring while it was happening last night. I got on a little late at 7:46 and was with them until they turned the audio off hours later when the guest speaker (guest blesser?), Ivan Roman, went from person to person blessing them by prophesying over them.

If you know me you realize that this style of worship is not something I’ve been practicing very long. I only started down this path in April of 2016 (this year!) and I continue to get more and more comfortable with worshiping God in this new-to-me, God-and-me-self-stretching, comfort zone-expanding style.

What’s the best way to watch The Outpouring live online? I’m glad you asked! But, some of you are not going to like this. Really ready?

DON’T multitask while watching.

If you have to get up and use the bathroom or get some water or check on the puppy or whatever, then ok. Turn up the volume, go do it and come right back without getting distracted.

What you really want to do is PARTICIPATE in worship.

I found myself saying “Amen” at least a couple times last night because I wasn’t merely “watching a show”.

My “rules” about watching are simply to help you get the most out of watching (PARTICIPATING) by having a real worship experience when you can’t make it to The Outpouring.

Soon The Fire & Glory Outpouring will be moving to Summit Church across from Cal State San Marcos. You can still catch it through Sunday night at Heart of God Church in Rancho Bernardo. Whether you attend before or after the move it will be Wednesday through Sunday nights at 7:30.

There’s also something you can get more details about at 6 pm on Wednesdays by visiting Living At His Feet Ministries to check the schedule.

The video below is from last week when I attended in Rancho Bernardo. If you watch you will eventually see me lay down on the floor in worship face down. That wasn’t a rule. I simply felt led to do it. Talk about stretching myself in worship! That was definitely a “new dance” for me.

God Bless You!

Be Filled With Wonder!
