Follow Me On Instagram!

I’m typing away at the tail end (hopefully) of the flu. Last night I watched the Fire & Glory Outpouring for the 95th time from home. I’ll be watching from my living room this weekend and I don’t want to give anybody what I’ve got right now.

Remember, you can watch this revival by searching Fire & Glory Outpouring on Youtube OR I urge you to come see Jerame & Miranda Nelson or one of the guest preachers when you’re in the area. Plan your travel to include some time for revival!

A brother told me about progress he was making on Instagram and loaned me a book on how to do it right – Instagram Secrets. That was 15 days ago and it looks like I’m doing pretty well with over 600 followers and some who interact frequently. Come take a look!

I think it’s time for a nap.

Here’s the song of the day (video with lyrics) by Lauren Daigle!

Isn’t God Good?

Tonight is Night 541 for The Fire & Glory Outpouring and this is the 84th time that I’ve watched from home. Our dog, Bones, is laid out between my legs while I recline on the couch and type with my right hand and hold the laptop to my chest with my left. Jerame Nelson asked the question above and my answer is a resounding “Yes!”

I can’t stress enough that if you feel it’s to far to travel to Heart of God Church in Rancho Bernardo (a community of San Diego) or if you’re really too busy to make it, you can watch the revival LIVE on Youtube. You can also watch at

Today I had a great time writing and talking about my recent experiences with the love of Jesus at Perks Coffee House in San Marcos. (If you’re reading this, send me a text! You know who you are!)

My computer’s acting up so I’ll wrap this up with a couple great songs of the day. (Plus, Fire & Glory is done with the offering and now it’s time to listen to Miranda Nelson preach!)

God bless you!

The Call – I Still Believe

Danny Gokey – Masterpiece

Start The Day In A Beautiful Way

Today started as many days do. I felt a nudge from God about not one, but two songs. Good Morning Starshine from Oliver, the 1963 Broadway show [the year I was born] and Bulletproof by Citizen Way. [Also, I tried out for a San Diego production of Oliver in the 1970s when I was in at St. John’s in Encinitas, California.]

When I’m feeling a song from a Broadway play highlighted I might start wondering if it’s just between God and me. This morning was a little more unusual as I shared Bulletproof with the owner of The Blue Mug coffee shop in Escondido. Not long after that a two-year old came in with his mom, who I believe was the owner’s niece. His name? Oliver.

While I don’t think this is some monumental message from the Lord, I do believe he’s gently encouraging me by reminding me that He’s there, He loves me and cares about even little things in my life. The Lord knows about my love of music and touches my heart in many ways, but music is a big one right now.

After I got home I turned on the TV to listen to some music on Youtube and the first two songs listed there were Good Morning, Starshine & Bulletproof. I should say that I don’t make a habit of listening to just those songs. I’ve been compiling a list of 120 songs or so that I hope to include in my upcoming book. I absolutely love that we’ve got our television hooked up so we can stream Youtube which means not just music videos, but also The Fire & Glory Outpouring, other preachers like Shawn Bolz, Ivan Roman and Darren Stott (to name just a few), Ted Talks, Stephen Colbert, etc…

What I’m getting at here is that it wasn’t inevitable for those two songs to be listed first on my screen. Interesting…

Today’s post’s title was inspired by the seventh song that played automatically after the first two. Here’s the list of 15 songs that played to start my day today:

1) Good Morning Starshine from Oliver
2) Bulletproof by Citizen way
3) The Morning Song by Steffany Gretzinger
4) Tell Your Heart To Beat Again by Danny Gokey
5) The Comeback by Danny Gokey
6) So Will I (100 Billion X) by WorshipMob
7) What A Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship

Many of us can find a way to squeeze the first seven songs into our day. It’s a great set of music. Today is Saturday so I pressed on (and “pressed in”) to include a total of 15 songs to start my day. Here are the other eight songs:

8) Guilty by Newsboys
9) Unfinished by Mandisa
10) We Believe by Newsboys
11) Cecie’s Lullabye by Stephanie Gretzinger
12) Old Church Choir by Zach Williams
13) That’s How You Change The World by Newsboys
14) Run Devil Run by Crowder
15) Overcomer by Mandisa

Give a listen to the song (below) that you might have thought I missed.

Merry Christmas!

Word Of Knowledge – Encouragement

Less than two years ago I don’t think I was aware of the phrase “word of knowledge”. This post is a way to make readers aware of the phenomenon and see me receiving on video. You’ll see me in my bright green “Kauai” Red Dirt brand shirt. I believe I have received at least 20-30 “words” in the last twenty months.

This is my simple explanation of what I believe it means. A word of knowledge or simply “a word” is when a person is so able to receive information from the Lord because of their level of intimacy with Holy Spirit at a given moment in time that God gives them information to share with someone else about that person. Shawn Bolz is known for being really experienced at this and usually really accurate. There are definitely lots of others who have lots and lots of experience.

You may ask, “What’s a word of knowledge for?” and one answer that I give is this: encouragement! We have a friend living with us right now who has a whole network of people he can ask to pray for him and many will give him a word of knowledge as encouragement that he is moving in the right direction. He received confirmation that God wanted him to move to the San Diego area last year.

Last year I gave a word to a woman on Facebook in a group where we practice giving words of knowledge to each other. When you read that post you’ll see that I received a word from two people I had never met about how accurate my word was for the woman! It was AMAZING and very encouraging to me. You can see from the exchange that at least one woman said that God interrupted her while she was giving someone a word so she could find me online and give me encouragement. As I said, we had never met AND the two people are even from a different part of the world!

Even as I looked back at the post I was encouraged by the very end of it because I love to sing and she told me to:

🙂 Sing brother; sing ♪ ♫ …

Recently I received a word through a friend of our roommate friend which told me that the Lord loves to hear me sing. Very encouraging!

Watch this snippet of Ivan Roman at the Fire & Glory Outpouring giving me words of knowledge on November 1 this year, the day after the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. He starts with me at 1:59:15. If you prefer you can start around 1:57:00 and see what one of the interns received from Ivan. Or, you can catch some of Ivan’s preaching before he moves into words of knowledge around 1:30:55.

Please make a note of these times or you will find yourself looking at a video that’s over 2 hours long. That’s fine if that’s what you want. I encourage you to make time to watch the whole video sometime soon.

God bless you!

Fire & Glory Outpouring @ 500+

Tonight will be Night #511 of the Fire & Glory Outpouring. Watch it at and don’t forget the Elisha Revolution app for your phone!

For those who haven’t read it, here’s where I started this part of my journey with the Lord. I’ll give you a minute to read it…Go ahead. I’ll wait.

Thanks for reading that post about my experience at Power and Love in Pasadena in April of 2016. Not only did I hear Todd White speak, but I also heard a missionary named Heidi Baker.

Heidi and her husband, Rolland, minister to the poorest of the poor in Mozambique and have started many churches through their ministry, Iris Global. (One of the reasons Heidi is special to me is she is the first person I remember hearing call God the Father by this name: Daddy God. I loved that the first time I heard it and now I usually refer to Daddy God when I pray, as in: Holy Spirit, Jesus and Daddy God.)

Oceans of people have come to know Jesus because of Heidi & Rolland and they are spiritual Mama & Papa to many.

Tonight, one of those spiritual sons will be the speaker at the Fire & Glory Outpouring in Rancho Bernardo. His name is Dr. Gershom Sikaala. I expect great things and so should you! Join me at Fire & Glory at 7 pm tonight! Watch online!

Today’s song of the day is “Rescuer” by Rend Collective.

Small Beginnings

Since I came back from Pasadena in April of 2016 I have new habits. One (or two) of these habits is asking Holy Spirit how much to give. I do this when we make an offering and often when I encounter a person living on the street or in a recovery program or someone who is traveling and may not have a place to stay.

I have taken a few guys to lunch and even prayed with people who accepted Jesus or rededicated their life to him! I’ve done this alone and with two friends, Mike and Richard, in Oceanside, San Marcos, Escondido, Encinitas, Monrovia, Pacific Beach, Pasadena, Palm Springs and Kauai!

In trying to give some help I’ve offered rides to the Fire & Glory Outpouring and made plans with more than one person. One man let me drive him to the revival a couple times, but he had some mental health issues and it became difficult for him. Another told me where to meet him last night and yet he didn’t show up.

A homeless woman who made plans with me to move her stuff didn’t show up on two separate occasions. Twice I invited two different sets of friends to help us with the project and both times she wasn’t at the storage facility. Yet another woman seemed excited and grateful for the opportunity to attend revival and she fell asleep and forgot to be where she told me to meet her.

I have known people who tried one project to help the homeless and when it didn’t work out the way they hoped, they simply decided to stop trying.

If you’re doing something for God that you had hoped would be more successful faster, keep going. Learn what you can and see how you can improve what you’re doing, but remember, God may have outcomes in store that you don’t expect.

Good things are happening if you care to notice. My two brothers-in-Christ got to know each other while I was out looking for the woman who didn’t show up. Last night I know a man was blessed by our brief interaction even as the man who was going to meet me somehow didn’t make it.

One verse I’ve learned about during the last 20 months goes something like this…

“Do not despise small beginnings…”

Here’s the song of the day:

Smiling Sheep

Last night was the second night in a row of Bobby Conner preaching at the Fire & Glory Outpouring and night 493 of the revival (and session 201 for me!). Bobby shared more of his personal testimony of God keeping him alive. (I’m pretty sure he’ll be back Sunday night the 26th, but check with Fire & Glory.)

We were invited to come up front and worship and I often see things “in the Spirit” when I worship now. Last night was no exception. One of the things I saw was a smiling sheep which was a representation of me. I am reminded of Psalm 121:8 (NASB) which goes like this:

The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forever.

Jesus is the good shepherd and we are the sheep of his hand. The verse above seems written in the same vein, with Jesus being the shepherd and you (and me) being the sheep.

John 10:11

11 “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.

Psalm 95:7-8

7 For He is our God,
And we are the people of His [a]pasture and the sheep of His hand.
Today, [b]if you would hear His voice,
8 Do not harden your hearts, as at [c]Meribah,
As in the day of [d]Massah in the wilderness,

[ All passages are from the New American Standard Bible (NASB) ]

While reading the quotes above I noticed Psalm 95:8 and included it because I think it’s a great gem of a reminder. To me, this reminder is extremely important.

Essentially: If you would [want to] hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.

The song of the day is [are you ready for this!?]…ta dah!…
Peter Frampton’s “Baby I Love Your Way”!

As always…

Delight yourself in the LORD;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 37:4 (NASB)
