Keep Going

Tonight I’m very tired. I’ve blogged on and off for around 15 years and this will be the first time that I’ve blogged every day for an entire month.

When you’re tempted to quit or accept less than your best you can call on God for help. As you practice this it becomes more familiar. You can sense that you’ve “been here before”.

One way I’ve been practicing keeping going or pressing on is at The Fire & Glory Outpouring. At least a half dozen times I’ve been there when I was really, really tired and I’ve found that you can still stand up to worship. (Sometimes I’ll sit and in a little while I find that I have more energy to stand up again or at least continue worshiping without falling asleep!)

In fact, I’m tired enough right now that I can’t quite remember where I was going with this. As I write I’m listening to an audio program titled “Developing Your Seer Anointing” by Jerame Nelson.

What I’m experiencing more and more is that listening to audio like this or christian music that I really like helps me persevere. So you can make choices to help you keep going.

On the other hand, if you give up at the first sign of resistance or if you make a habit of saying “I’m too tired” to continue, you can become familiar with how it feels to simply give up.

Sooner or later you will say to yourself (something like) “I’ve been here before. I know what this is.”

If you want to say that about perseverance (instead of saying it about giving up), please remember that you can always ask God for help to keep going. Always!

Ephesians 6:13-18 The Message (MSG)

13-18 Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

Bold Belief

Here’s another quick post for your edification. What do you feel is an important message in this passage?

***
Mark 2:2-5 The Message (MSG)

A Paraplegic
2 1-5 After a few days, Jesus returned to Capernaum, and word got around that he was back home. A crowd gathered, jamming the entrance so no one could get in or out. He was teaching the Word. They brought a paraplegic to him, carried by four men. When they weren’t able to get in because of the crowd, they removed part of the roof and lowered the paraplegic on his stretcher. Impressed by their bold belief, Jesus said to the paraplegic, “Son, I forgive your sins.”

Time For Some Rest

We need to remember to rest simply because we’re currently in these earthly bodies. I like these verses and hope you enjoy them and the music of Jaci Velasquez.

14 And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Shawn Bolz’ Special Message

Here I am about seven hours after Shawn Bolz finished preaching last night and I am somewhat tired, but I’m excited! I honestly think his message was likely the best sermon I’ve ever heard! The reason I’m so over the moon about is that I believe he shared a huge part of “how to” about our faith.

Do you ever feel like you’ve been told what you’re supposed to do but now you have to figure out how? I’m going to watch Shawn’s message again, but what I heard sounded a lot like HOW TO DO the things we’re called to do in FAITH.

Another way to look at the “how” is to say that he gave us “keys” last night. I’m PUMPED! [ I may LOOK groggy, but am definitely highly encouraged. 😉 ]

Matthew 11:30 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

In My Humble Opinion (IMHO) – Yoke just got EASIER and burden LIGHTENED!

Shawn Bolz is introduced at around 2:19:20.

Shawn Bolz & The Love Process

Shawn Bolz is speaking tonight at Summit Church. You better hurry if you want to see him tonight. I’m leaving in 15 minutes to volunteer. If you get there at 7 pm when it starts you will likely be standing! There’s even a chance that there won’t be enough room for everybody. You CAN watch The Fire & Glory Outpouring on ElishaRevolution.com.

Earlier I searched Youtube and found this old snippet of Shawn Bolz talking about God’s love process. Enjoy!

God bless you!

What’s Your Philippians Opinion?

Until I typed those words I hadn’t noticed how amusing they might sound.
(I’ll give you a minute while you hear someone with your favorite accent ask that question in your head.)

***
Philippians 3:14 New International Version (NIV)

14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
***

After reading that, what should we do? I think it’s fairly simple.

Press on. As in, persevere.

Sometimes things are happening that make pressing on seem like a big challenge.

What then?

You have probably heard that we’re not supposed to complain.

***
Philippians 2:14 New International Version (NIV)

14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing,
***

I believe there is definitely one exception.

Complain to God if you need to complain (petition). He’s ready to hear what you’ve got to say. Be honestly yourself with God and be honest ABOUT yourself with God. He’s got your back. And He’s always ready to give you more of the peace that passes all understanding when you seek Him.

What you and I have to do is remember to do what is says in another section of Philippians. We have to “press in” by worshiping, praying and otherwise seeking intimacy with God.

***
Philippians 4:6-7 New International Version (NIV)

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
***

Keep pressing on. Keep “pressing in” with God.

Press On. Press In. Repeat.

Like on the back of a shampoo bottle.

That is all.

God bless you!

A Stunning Level Of Attention

If I could find a way to make sure that you watch this Shawn Bolz video I would do so.

My hope is that the quote from “How to Receive a Prophetic Word”, which is the title of this post, will make you curious enough to take the plunge.

Many of us are busy AND we can’t let that get in the way of being intimate with God and learning about Him and from Him.

You’ll be glad and blessed that you watched Shawn Bolz. I suggest starting 35 minutes in for a quick introduction from Patricia King if you are mostly interested in hearing from Shawn.

That’s my pitch.

God bless you!
